hellosmile-RED Card | YELLOW Card

Just spent the day at hellosmile helping the team develop some fast prototypes of their RED Card / YELLOW card warning system, as part of their efforts to redesign the pediatric dental care experience.

The idea is to hand out warnings in the form of yellow cards (warning) red cards (serious) to the parents if the child’s teeth are not doing so well. The handouts are part of a service design system that engages the parents using collateral as conversation starters about what to do next.

The hope is that the warning cards mix some guilt/shame and knowledge empowerment so that the parent can help right the wrong. These pamphlets would start out as folded, but could be unfolded and easily hung on the fridge as reminders.
